Rachel & Collin | 9.1.2018
I am going to have the hardest time expressing to all of you just how much these two meant to me. Don’t get me wrong, all of our couples are so incredibly important to us, I love all of them. Rachel and Collin, just instantly became so much more than clients. We began working with them far in advance of their wedding and together, we planned every detail, design element, curated every vendor, and toasted many glasses of wine. Not only did we work closely with Rachel and Collin, but their families meant just as much to us. We spent immense time with both of their moms, and they both poured their hearts into making the day what it was. They are the kind of couples that I honestly don’t want their wedding day to come, because I don’t want to stop working with them. However, at the same time, I could not wait to see every last detail of their planning and hard work come together into the day that we had.
There was something so peaceful and serene about the entire day. Even though it didn’t start that way. We had torrential downpours here all morning, that cleared up just in time for everyone to make their way to the church (rain on your wedding day by the way, totally a good thing!). The weather cleared up and we had a beautiful afternoon for them. Everything from beginning to end flowed seamlessly. We didn’t hit a single snag or hiccup, our timeline flowed flawlessly. From beginning to end, the day was overflowing with love.
Not only did we plan every detail of Rachel and Collin’s wedding with them, we also had the honor of designing all of their florals. Rachel trusted me to bring their design full circle and curate everything from bouquets and bouts, to centerpieces and more. It is no secret that I love a big bouquet, and Rachel’s was no exception. I sourced locally grown Dahlias and Garden roses for her, and tied the whole thing off with hand dyed silk ribbons. The rest of the event flowed together with matching colors and textures to bring everything together.
I hope that the images from their day below, give you a small peak in to their beautiful dream wedding day. They were captured by Crystal Green of The Verdant Photographer, who was just as excited as we were about the entire day. ((It wasn’t just us, their entire vendor team loved them so incredibly much!))
The Gorgeous gals getting ready that morning at Rachel’s parents home…
Rachel Getting Ready…
Rachel’s momma is one of the sweetest women I have ever met. She has such a love for Rachel and Collin and it was beautiful to see not only on the wedding day, but through the entire planning process.
What did I tell you about those mommas?! They were the sweetest!
First Look For Rachel and Her Father..
Once we got to the church, Rachel did a quick first look with her dad. There was not a dry eye around!
Behind The Scenes…
While we waited for guests to arrive and get seated the girls were waiting patiently in the church basement.
Rachel and Collin got married at the gorgeous St. Flannen’s Church in Harmon Illinois. Which means so much to both of them!
Collin walked both of his parents down the aisle and then gave his mom the sweetest hug before walking to the altar.
After the ceremony we did photos outside of the church, and then the wedding party headed to Collin’s family home. Collin’s mom spent months preparing their landscaping for this day! Her hard work definitely did not go unnoticed. Every detail she put in to everything was gorgeous and provided not only a perfect backdrop, but a meaningful one!
The Reception Reveal
This was the first time I have ever done this, and I hope to do it for every wedding. You put so much time and effort in to the design of your reception, and you usually only see it in photos. It was so nice to let Rachel and Collin be the first ones in the room and see all of their hard work come together. We let them in the room early to see the entire space untouched. Not only was it special, but Rachel had me in tears. Full blown ugly cry mode. They were both so appreciative and in love with all of the hard work our team put in, and I will treasure this moment forever.
Barnacopia provides such a gorgeous and unique backdrop that we wanted to make sure that we accented it, while also creating a unique event. We did this by bringing in rented Mahogany chairs, utilizing burgundy and wine florals combined with greenery and various textural elements, and creating a unique place setting for each guest. Each guest place had a menu with a timeline map on the back, a knotted napkin, and a small bottle of alcohol (Ryan’s, a nod at the new couples last name!)
The day would not be complete without taking photos with the tree at the venue, so while guests enjoyed cocktails, Rachel and Collin enjoyed some alone time.
Rachel & Collin,
I truly hope that your wedding day was everything you ever dreamt it to be, and more. More than that, I wish you a marriage even more beautiful. I can not wait to watch you grow as a couple and a family. Your relationship is beautiful and your wedding day showed that in every way.
Ever After Planning
The Rockstar Vendor Team
I can not speak highly enough of the team that came together for their wedding day to make it what it was. Without them, we would have had nothing. Their hard work and dedication is truly incredible.
