Ever After Love Stories

Colleen + Eric | 7.28.2017

We closed out July of 2017 in such a beautiful way with Colleen and Eric. Their Chicago wedding took us on a Friday adventure that we are sure to remember for such a long time. Not only were they both so sweet and in love, their wedding was the perfect tribute to their unique love story.

Getting Ready

Colleen and Eric got ready downtown Chicago at The Alise Hotel. We had the perfect backdrop of downtown. The hotel itself is very unique so it was an incredible space to get ready for their big day.

This moment where Colleen was reading a special note from Eric was just one of the sweetest moments to date. We love when couples exchange gifts and sweet words in the morning before their wedding. Not only is it there to help calm your nerves and remind you of what is to come, but you have a sweet memory to always look back on.

P.S. If your groom + groomsmen aren’t watching a Youtube video in order to tie their bowties, then they are true pro’s! This is always such a fun candid shot!

The First Look

For their first look, Colleen and Eric headed down to The Adler Planetarium on Lake Michigan. They not only had the sweetest moment together, but captured some amazing portraits together.

Portraits Before The Ceremony

Some couples choose to do a first look and get a good chunk of photographs out of the way before the ceremony. This allows them to attend cocktail hour and be more present in their wedding. Colleen and Eric took advantage of this and Joan and John of Bellow Blue Photography, captured some sweet moments!

The Ceremony

The Ceremony took place just outside of the Bridgeport Art Center in the Sculpture Garden Courtyard. Decorated beautifully by Art Of Imagination and Flowers for Dreams, their guests watched them say I do under the gorgeous brick covered courtyard.

Portraits After The Ceremony

Colleen and Eric did sneak away for a few golden hour photographs. During this time, Colleen happened to lose her veil, which made for a great candid moment as well as a few laughs.

The Reception

The space was decorated beautifully taking advantage of the wood structures in the room, cafe lighting, and brightening everything up with gorgeous floral arrangements.

The dances are always one of my favorite parts of the reception. Colleen and Eric had their first dance set to the tune of Downtown by Magic Cloudz, which if you haven’t heard it before it is a must! I also love to see brides and grooms dancing with their parents, it is such a sweet tribute and a loving moment.

Vendor Love

To all of the creative vendors who came together to form a team on pulling together this beautiful day for Collen and Eric, I love you forever. Their day would not have been the same without each of you.

Way to go Jordan! Everything looked so romantic with the brick walls and bistro lights. I have to say I love that the photographer captured the guys learning how to tie a bow tie haha
I can’t believe the bride lost her veil in the water!! Did she get it out? I guess it would dry pretty quickly though.
    Beautiful wedding!
