Alex + Taylor | Lee County 4-H Center | Amboy Illinois | Ever After Planning Love Story

Jun 6, 2018

Alex + Taylor | 4.14.2018

We kicked off our wedding season for 2018 with Alex and Taylor’s celebration. Every single client that we celebrate with is special to us, but for Alex and Taylor it was a complete honor. I have known them both for years, and to be given the honor to plan, design, and execute the celebration of a friend, is something that I find hard to put in to words. Every single moment of planning with them was a favorite of mine. Not only did we spend quite a few late nights mulling over details and design facets, but we truly enjoyed creating their special day. We worked with them for over a year, and this truly allowed us to create a design that was heartfelt. Every detail of this wedding was carefully thought out to have meaning and create a cohesive design experience for their guests.

Getting Ready + Details

Alex and Taylor spent their moment getting ready at The Lincoln Way Inn Bed and Breakfast. The girls spent their morning in the carriage house with hair and make up, while the guys got to hang out in the lower level of the Inn (which is incredibly resemblant of the perfect Man Cave!)

Their details will forever be some of my favorites. Stationery was created and designed with MMD Creative. While I will forever love styled bridal details, perhaps 2 of my favorite shots from this part of the day were the details of Alex and Taylors sweet children.

Alex’s gorgeous dress came from Savys Chic Bridal Boutique in downtown Dixon Illinois and made her look like an absolute princess.
Gorgeous florals creating by Candice of Pollen and Pastry!

The girls all seeing Alex for the first time. We all thought she looked like something right out of a fairytale!

The Ceremony

When we got to the church, Alex got to see her dad for the first time, and I have to tell you, it was just the beginning of so many tear jerking moments for the day!

The ceremony took place at the church that Alex grew up in, St Patricks Catholic Church in Dixon. It was a gorgeous ceremony that truly showcased them being a married couple. There were so many tear jerking moments. From Taylor walking his mother down the aisle, to the sweet babies at the end, it was all just incredibly heartfelt.

The Design

This reception will forever be one of my favorite designs. With such a large guest count, we were limited on venues. It was a challenge to take such a blank slate of the 4-H Center and turn it in to Alex’s garden wedding theme. I have to admit, I couldn’t resist just standing back before we opened the doors for everyone and just soak in how it all came together. We worked very closely together with Pollen and Pastry for the floral design and installations, I Do Events for the ceiling installations, Step It Up Rentals for the gorgeous white chairs, MMD Creative for the menus, and Ever After Planning provided the linens. The Reception

Alex and Taylor opted for our Signature Grand Entrance timeline, and it worked out perfectly to open their event! Guests got to enjoy all of the precious first moments of the night!

P.S. Give me a wedding with all of the sweet babies. My heart was so full!

The Video

We love when our couples hire videographers to capture their wedding day. There is something so truly special about having your day captured in this way. We love when couples make this a priority. We loved working with Anchored Films, and hope you love this video as much as we do!

Vendor Love

To all of the creative vendors who came together to form a team on this beautiful day for Alex and Taylor, I love you forever. Their day would not have been the same without each of you.
